Rancho Grande
is vibrant in wildlife and also has its very own Mini Zoo.

Mallorcan Donkey

The head is long and square. The ears are large and mobile. The front legs are more robust than the back ones and the hoofs are thin. The Donkey is usually black with grey/white markings around the eyes, mouth, chest and stomach.

 

Ostrich

The ostrich is the world's largest living bird and is flightless, however it can run up to speeds of 40 mph. An ostrich can live to be about 70 years old and can weigh from 250 to 400 pounds and stand 2 tall.

 

Mallorcan Pig


These animals are gentle, medium size and native to the Mallorcan countryside. The head is thin and the profile shows a concaved nose. The neck is short and thick.All four legs are thin and relatively short. The hoofs are black


Black Swan


The Black Swan has a body length of up to 142 cm, with the females being smaller than the males. In adults, the body is mostly black. The bill is a deep orange-red, paler at the tip, with a distinct narrow white band towards the end.

 

Guinea Pig


A guinea pig is a kind of rodent like a mouse or rat. Many years ago guinea pigs only lived in south America, however visitors to South America returned with them and they have since spread all over the world as pets. They are shy and spend a lot of time hiding. In the wild they live in long grass or other animals abandoned burrows.

 

Wild Boar

The body of the Boar is very solid and is covered with coarse hair. The legs are short and strong. The males have upper canines which form tusks and the lower ones are razor sharp. They can weigh up to 300 kg. In Spain they are found mostly in the North and central areas (Andalucia and Cataluña)
